Château description
Mostov got its name after the village it is situated in. It has been the property of many owners who first changed it from the original fortress into a baroque château and later into Romantic , pseudogothic style. The complete compound covers the plots of the area of 5,6 hectares and is situated in a peaceful natural locality through which river Ohře flows.
The château building which has gone through two reconstructions since the beginning of the new millenium dominates all compound . The building of a former mill the construction of which has been partially modified into a hotel together with some unused buildings are also parts of the compound.
A noteworthy element of the château is the collection of fifteen tiled stoves, some unique document of the development of the craft for over almost all 19th century and a few precious stained glasses. The historical painted ceilings and frescoes on the walls represent another attraction. A chaple with some stained glasses with the motive of five saints is also a part of the château.
After the reconstruction in 2002 the château together with the former mill served as a hotel with a restaurant and a wellness centre with the capacity for 100 people. The château and the mill went through an essential reconstruction in 2018 and 2019 when its present owner, Archbishopric of Prague, had it repaired in a sensitive way and modernized for the use as a five-star hotel. The last stage including the interier furnishing will rest with the new owner who can thus create the final shape following their own taste.
Since 1992 the château has been protected as a cultural monument of CR.
