Description of the château and the locality
The château has changed a series of owners and together with them its shape has been changing as well. The oldest part of the château building is of baroque origin. It was built in 1688 as a residence for Dominicans of St. Jiljí from Prague. A small-sized one-storey building of a rectangular ground plan was covered by a garret roof with a dormer-window. From this time vaulted spaces on the ground floor have been preserved.
After 1789 the château was extended and in this classicist shape it had already two floors.
Only the recosntruction at the end of the 19th century gave the château its present shape. Both outside risalites on the sides of the original baroque building originate from that time. On the first floor a festive hall with a terrace and a staircase was created. At the same time an open loggia was added together with the corner turrets and plastic window frames.
The château got its name after the village in which it is located. Trnová is situated in a picturesque nook in the middle of the woods near Jíloviště. The beauty of the local landscape inspired composer František Škroup whose family possessed the château for a certain period to compose the song Where is my home.
After the last alteration which was a complete reconstruction in 2009-2010 the château was extended by accommodation capacity for up to 20 people. The inside of the château is inspired by French second rococo style, the period of Napoleon III. The château also disposes of a terrace, a swimming pool, a sauna, its own chaple, a tower and a cellar. The picturesque château garden is also worth mentioning in which there is a pond with a pier and a summerhouse.
Next to the château there is a riding site Trnová which offers besides other things horse rides or stabling and private horse training.
4 kilometres from the château there is also the golf course Líšnice with nine holes.
Château Trnová which is located in the village of the same name built in romantic style extends in Central Bohemian region. The central building of the château is isolated, part of the building has a cellar and it has two floors.
On the ground floor there is the caretaker´s apartment, some offices, two private rooms, a chaple, a kitchen (preparation room), technical rooms, fitness, a swimming pool, a terrace and sanitary facilities.
On the first main floor we can find an elegant entrance hall, a large and small dining room, a kitchen, some private rooms, some halls, two rooms with bathrooms, a family room and a roof terrace leading to the château garden.
The second floor disposes of six rooms with bathrooms and entrance halls, a roof terrace, a sauna, a club room and several balconies.
